Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-15
Glozz ("the extension", "the website", "we", "us") provides instant AI-powered translation and reading assistance, including a browser extension and a web-based PDF reader. This policy explains what data is handled, where it goes, and what stays on your device.
1. Data You Provide
- License key (Reader/Scholar plans) — sent only to our license-validation endpoint to confirm your subscription tier and expiry date. No other personal information is transmitted with it.
- Preferences — UI language, translation languages, toggles, and similar settings, stored locally.
- Account recovery email (optional) — if you use the "recover my license" form on the Account page, your email address is sent to our backend solely to look up and resend your license key.
- Sign-in email (optional) — if you sign in from the Account page, your email is used to send you a one-time sign-in link and to identify your account. We do not set or store a password.
2. Data Processed for Translation
When you select text on a page (or in an uploaded PDF), the extension or
website sends the following to Glozz's backend
(glozz-api.vadimprosvirov7.workers.dev), which forwards it to the Anthropic
API using Glozz's own API key:
- The selected text, the paragraph containing it, and limited surrounding context, so the AI can produce an accurate, context-aware translation.
- A short summary of your recent lookups in the current session ("session memory"), used to make follow-up explanations more relevant.
- Your chosen source and target languages.
- A randomly generated device identifier (and your license key, if you have one) used solely to enforce your plan's daily usage limits.
This data is processed transiently to generate your translation or explanation and is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Glozz does not log or store the content of these requests or responses — only the daily usage counters described below are retained.
3. PDF Reader
PDFs you open in the Glozz PDF Reader are processed entirely in your browser (via PDF.js) and are never uploaded to any Glozz server. Only the text you select is sent to Glozz's backend, exactly as described in Section 2.
4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
- Vocabulary — words and phrases you choose to save, including their translations, explanations, source title/URL, and any tags you add. Stored locally and never transmitted anywhere by Glozz.
- Session memory — your recent lookups within a tab or
reader session, stored in
sessionStorageand cleared automatically when the tab is closed (or manually via Settings). - Daily usage counters — the number of translations and deep explanations used today, used only to enforce your plan's limits.
You can export your vocabulary (CSV/JSON) or delete all locally stored data at any time from Settings → Preferences.
5. Account (Sign-In)
Glozz does not require an account. If you choose to sign in from the Account page (or from the extension's Settings), the following applies:
- Email address — used to send a one-time sign-in link and to identify your account. No password is set or stored.
- Vocabulary and settings — when signed in, your saved
words and preferences are synced to our backend
(
glozz-api.vadimprosvirov7.workers.dev) so they're available across your devices and browsers, including the extension and the PDF Reader. This does not change how translation/explanation content is handled — that remains unlogged, as described in Section 2. - Subscription link — if you have an active license, signing in links it to your account so your plan applies on every device where you're signed in.
You can sign out at any time — this removes the sign-in from your device but keeps your account and synced data for next time. To permanently delete your account, including your synced vocabulary, settings, and license, use "Delete my account" on the Account page (or "Delete all data" in the extension's Settings while signed in).
6. Usage Limits and License Validation
Every translation and deep-explanation request includes your device identifier (and license key, if any) so our backend can track and enforce your plan's daily limits. On the Free plan, we additionally apply a secondary, IP-based limit to deter abuse — your IP address is hashed (SHA-256) before being checked and is never stored in raw form.
If you activate a Reader or Scholar license, the extension and the
website periodically send your license key to our validation service
(glozz-api.vadimprosvirov7.workers.dev) to confirm it is active and to
retrieve your current plan tier and expiry date. This request contains only
the license key — no browsing data, reading content, or vocabulary is
included.
7. What We Do Not Do
- We do not operate analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
- We do not have access to the pages or PDFs you read or the text you select.
- We do not log or store the text you select, the AI's responses, or the pages you read.
- If you don't sign in, we do not have access to your vocabulary list. If you sign in, your vocabulary and settings are synced to your account as described in Section 5.
8. Third-Party Services
Glozz communicates with the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Anthropic (api.anthropic.com) — processes translation and explanation requests on our behalf, via our backend, using Glozz's own API key.
- Paddle — processes subscription payments if you upgrade to a paid plan. Payment details are handled entirely by Paddle; Glozz does not receive or store your card information.
- Resend — delivers sign-in and license-related emails on our behalf. Resend processes your email address solely to deliver these messages.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
All locally stored data (settings, vocabulary, usage counters) remains on your device until you delete it via Settings → Preferences → "Delete all data", or until you remove the extension / clear your browser storage, which erases it automatically. Account-recovery emails are retained only as long as needed to look up your license key.
If you've signed in, "Delete my account" (on the Account page) or "Delete all data" (in the extension's Settings, while signed in) permanently deletes your account from our servers — including your synced vocabulary, settings, and license — and signs you out everywhere. This action cannot be undone.
10. Children's Privacy
Glozz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, noted in the extension's release notes.
